About Us

John and Jacky Weidman

The ministry is led by John and Jacky Weidman who are involved in full time ministry in the inner city with The Navigators. They are an International ministry who’s vision is to advance the Gospel of Jesus and His Kingdom into the nations through spiritual generations of laborers living and discipling among the lost. Under the umbrella of The Navigators, John and Jacky serve as executive directors of HPCO. Our ministry has one other full time staff member and her name is Sarah Hilliker, who serves as program director. Sarah joined our staff in the Fall of 2006. She is from Grand Rapids and graduated from Eastern Michigan University in May of 2006.

HPCO provides evangelistic and discipleship programs for inner city youth and children in a community known as Highland Park (a very impoverished suburb surrounded by the city of Detroit). This is actually the ministry that we founded back in 1993 when we left Detroit Metro Youth For Christ. Prior to that we had done similar work with them since 1987 (Jacky joined me [John] in 1990 when we were married). Prior to that the ministry started when John began doing kids club and summer camps in 1984 as a partnership between the Highland Park Baptist Church and the Open Door Rescue Mission while still a teacher at Southfield Christian School.

It has been our privilege to serve the children and families of Highland Park for many years. We have seen many lives changed as a result of what God is doing through us here. We invite you to read on to see if the Lord may lead you to partner with us in some way.
